"Evaluation and prediction of some wheat cultivars productivity in relation to different sowing dates under North Sinai region conditions"
The objectives of the investigation were to:-
- Evaluate the performance of some wheat cultivars in relation to metrological parameters of different sowing dates under arid condition of El-Arish-North Sinai region.
- Evaluate the application of DSSAT-CERES-Wheat model for prediction of growth yield of wheat under growing conditions in Egypt.
Name and type of organisation providing funding and financial efforts: Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT) M.Sc. research grants (scholarships), Higher Council for Science & Technology.
I have achieved a lot of research goals with ASRT grant:
- Two open field experiments to evaluating four bread wheat cultivars under different sowing dates
- Analyzing historical weather data (1980-2011)
- Designed the Weather Data Base for El-Arish Station (WDBAS)
- Monitoring the drought over Sinai using remote sensing technique
- Field case study to get over 50 soil sample from 5 sites in Sinai to build the soil profile FILES (soil.sol) as input file for CSM-CERES-Wheat
- Calibration and validation of DSSAT model.

"Climate change impact on some rainfed wheat cultivars under North Sinai region conditions"
The objectives of the investigation were to:-
- Evaluate the performance of some winter wheat cultivars in relation to different irrigation pattern under semi-arid condition of El-Arish-North Sinai region.
- Predict the growth and productivity of these wheat cultivars in climate change scenarios by using data inputs in of DSSAT model (V4.5) and comparing the actual performance of such cultivars by the predicted results.
